Tablets explained - Which one is right for you?
Tablets are everywhere and they come in all shapes and forms but the biggest thing that defines them in the operating system. So which one is for you?
iOS – Apple
If you have a Macbook laptop, an iPhone then an iPad is really the best choice for you. Staying in the apple ecosystem means all of your gadgets will work seamlessly together (don’t quote us on that). Although it’s not the greatest for getting work done it is an awesome entertainment gadget.
Android - Google
Android is a great choice as there are cheap android tablets and expensive ones. They are versatile and come in an array of sizes and features. The only worry is support as updates for most android tablets end after a year and you could be stuck with a buggy tablet. Getting the ‘Nexus’ brand will keep you up to date but limits you to only a few options.
Windows 8/Pro - Microsoft
A Windows tablet is a great thing. It can run a lot of what a laptop can. A Windows Pro tablet is even better like the Microsoft Surface or Lenovo ThinkPad 2 and these can replace your laptop if you are a light user and use MS Office, surf the net and run a few programs. Great for travellers and professionals that need a portable workstation.
Size: 7”
This is great if you’re on the go and need it for emails, maps, music and light app use. Great portability battery life but you won’t get much work done on it.
Size: 10.1”
If you’re looking to watch media, do some work and effectively as close to a laptop replacement then this is the size for you.
